Back to School Program

August

Since 1991, the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana has been partnering with the Miami-Dade County Public School System to distribute book bags and school supplies to children in low-income areas.  The annual distribution, which takes place at the beginning of each academic year, reaches more than 8,000 children from various schools and community organizations. The book bags include all school supplies needed for the start of a child’s school year based on age group, including notebooks, pencils, folders, glue sticks, rulers, markers, composition books, filler paper, safety scissors and crayons.
