Youth Basketball League

September – October

Started in 1975, the Youth Basketball League is the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana’s longest running program with more than 5,000 current and former participants. The free program includes uniforms, equipment and snacks for young sports fanatics, ages 8-13, as coaches and mentors lead participants through basic basketball drills and clinics that will teach the young athletes shooting, passing, dribbling and overall techniques, all while promoting sportsmanship and keeping healthy and fit in a fun environment.

Healthy Kids Summer Camp

June – August

Since 1991, the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana has been providing summer activities and a safe haven for underserved children in the community during the summer months. The free, eight-week camp serves more than 250 children annually who enjoy complimentary uniforms, lunch and snacks, as well as daily sports activities and weekly field trips that make physical activity an integral part of their lives. Thanks to funds generated through Carnaval Miami, more than 4,000 children, ages 7-13, have taken part in the Healthy Kids Summer Camp.
